May 2012 Haul!!!

I'm here with another haul to show you guys what I bought for the month of May.

I have the same cake powder in refill but the powder cracked and it was a mess, so I decided to buy the compact to keep the powder intact and safe. Plus, it has a mirror.

Nichido Sheer Lipstick with Shea Butter in Pink Ice (about P170.00)

If you are into sheer lipsticks that are super moisturizing, then this is the lipstick for you. It goes on smoothly and has a vanilla scent that I surprisingly like.

I tried this once and instantly fell in love. It's highly pigmented. I used it in my Burgundy Smokey Eyes makeup look. I just used my fingers to blend the color softly.

Product Review: e.l.f. Studio Lip Stain in Red Carpet

Hello everyone!! 

I was walking around looking for some cosmetics to buy when I saw this lip stain from e.l.f.. The saleslady talked me into buying it. She said that even after eating, the lip stain stayed on her lips. 

I decided to buy it and try it for myself. It claims that this lip stain achieves full coverage that lasts for hours. I picked the shade Red Carpet because it's red and I thought it's the perfect test-color.

This is what it looks like in its box. It costs P249.75 and you get 6ml of product. 

This is what the actual product looks like. On one end is the lip stain, on the other end is a clear gloss. 

If you are familiar with NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream, they have very similar texture. It's very soft and very pigmented. It says on the box that you have to allow it to dry for a matte finish. It takes about 2-3 minutes for it to dry and it's completely matte. I suggest that when you apply this, be extremely careful because it's really hard to remove once it's dry.

I only applied one coat of lip stain and you can really tell that it's highly pigmented. It's feels a bit dry. I know a lot of people don't really like the feel of matte lips  but I have to say that it's quite comfortable and easy to wear. It also didn't settle on the cracks of my lips. I didn't use the gloss since I really want to test the lip stain and I don't want the gloss to sabotage the result. 

Time Check: 8:12pm

This is the lip stain after eating. Three hours later and it is still bright as it was three hours ago. A little bit of color trasfered to my spoon & glass but overall, it stayed on. 

Time Check: 10:14pm & 12:02am

I still have red lips after 5 hours but some of the color is fading. And 7 hours later, it looks like I have a pink lipstick on. I have to say that I was very surprised with this product, I never thought it would last for 7 hours. I went home and removed it with my oil-based makeup remover and there's still some color that just wouldn't budge.

Soft texture and easy to blend

Cons:

Poor shade selection (avaible in 5 shades only)

It dries my lips a bit (but it's nothing I can't handle) 

Can be very hard to remove without an oil-based makeup remover

Not suitable for very dry lips

Rating:

3 out of 5 kittens

Repurchase? Yes, I would like to try the other shades and see if they're as good as this shade. 

Overall, I like this product. I don't need to re-touch everytime I eat or drink and the shade is very pretty.
